Alexis lowered herself slowly on to one of the plush emerald couches in the corner of the Slytherin Common Room. The greenish glow in the room caused her skin to emit a soft glow, her hair to shine excessively, and gave her eyes a false darkness. She had her History of Magic textbook open in her hands, and she was seemingly transfixed by the wizarding wars that had occurred in the 1300s. So transfixed, her dark (mascara coated) eyelashes blinked only once every three or four lines. She pushed the rich, dark brown hair away from her face, and bit her lower, shiny pink lip. It was a Saturday afternoon, rainy and quiet. Alex had chosen to pull on a pair of old bluejeans and an over-sized dark green cardigan, sleeves rolled up to her elbows. her hair fell around her face in relaxed curves, not perfectly straight. She pulled her legs up under her, crossing them slowly. Everything was slow today, for some reason. Even her thought process, as she read. "Fabnad the Fearless became famous in 1318 for single-handedly storming a Giant campsite, and incapacitating and capturing a particularly uncivilized male by the name of Greoggr who was later convicted of savagely murdering an entire wizarding family..." Her eyes trailed over the words, taking them in. She didn't however, ask herself the usual questions, such as why Fabnad would have done it, if there was any way he could have altered the story, etc. She was beginning to lose interest in the material as the chapter dragged on. Leaving her book open on her lap, she stretched her arms above her head, and let a long, "Mmmmmmmmm..." escape her lips. She then cupped her left hand around her right elbow, and scratched her head for a moment (creating a messy amount of volume on the right side of her hair), then propped her chin in her hand. There really wasn't much going on in here today. She figured most of the students were probably sleeping in, or maybe roaming the halls with friends. Whatever floated their boat, she supposed. Next thing Alexis knew, she was holding a loaded quill, sketching in the corner of page 461 of her textbook. Two hands, one delicate and feminine, one strong looking and masculine were grasping each other, encircled by a dainty-looking chain. It was cute. She looked at the image, bemused, and closed her book maybe a little harder than necessary. Why is this coming out into the open now, of all times... she fumed inwardly. Well, she couldn't help it. The best she could do was deal with it, albeit grudgingly.

Ximun entered the Slytherin common room, feeling tired and happy at the same time. Yawning, he sat down on his favorite chair, which was next to Alexis. "So Alex, you've managed to avoid me for a while now. Why is that?" He asked, taking a flask of firewhiskey out of his robes and taking a sip.
"So how have you been? It's been so long since we've talked last." He said tucking the flask back in his robes. "I miss ya kiddo."

Alexis heard his footsteps approaching, and knew there was no way out of this. She looked up from her reading, and smiled at him. Oh, that face. The face she's seen every time she fucking closes her eyes. Now it was here - for real. "Get real, I haven't been avoiding you!" She laughed, giving him a (hopefully) genuine-looking smile, and continued, slower now. "Yeah... I miss you too Xi. Things have been.. good." She tossed her book onto the floor, and propped her chin on her fist. "How're things with you? Hey give me some of that." She smiled at him and reached out for his flask.

Ximun smirked and threw the flask to Alexis. "Don't drink all of it. I need some to keep me awake in Charms." He said winking at her. His smirk widened when she said she had missed him as well. "You know, I forget what even happened between us, Alex. You're adorable, and funny.... Smart." He said smiling at her.
"Things are alright. I failed my Charms tests because I was too drunk to write things down. Oh, and I'm dating Lily Potter." He said sighing.

Alexis took a mouthful, made a face, and tossed it back to Ximun. She scratched the back of her head, avoiding eye contact. Him complimenting her like this was harder to stand than nearly anything. "Yeah, I heard about you and Potter." She withheld any type of congratulatory statement. Truth be told, she was what had happened between them. Alexis had always felt she maybe still had a chance with him. He was her best friend, her favourite person. And then Lily came into the picture... He was better than her, than that. "How's that going for you?"

Ximun laughed when Alex made a face after she drank. "Girl, you know I drink fire whiskey. You should have asked." He said taking another drink then tucking the flask into his robes again. He felt a surge of hate emanate from Alexis at the mention of Lily. "It's going alright. She's too young and flirty, though. I might break up with her. I need something more.... Serious." He said smiling at Alexis. "Sort of like we had."

Alexis ignored his closing comment, for fear of beginning a conversation that was going to hurt. "Get real, you're crazy about her..." Hearing him say something negative about Lily had sent Alex's spirits skyrocketing, however. She could imagine it now, "Alli, I've loved you since I met you... I only dated other girls because I was afraid of losing you." ... Or something like that. But no, no. Alex knew that their friendship was only a friendship. No matter what she wished for. And truthfully, Ximun was the best friend she could ever ask for. He was perfect for her. And if dating him meant risking losing him... Count her out. She needed him. Simple as that. The firewhisky was now burning in her stomach, and causing her to become slightly lightheaded. Maybe she should have had a smaller gulp. She mussed her hair a little, and looked him in the eye for the first time since he'd come down. "Absolutely nuts about her, you are mate."

Ximun rolled his eyes. "Alli you know I'm not lying." He said, moving from his chair and softly sitting on her lap. "Lily is too much of a child. She's reckless and stupid." He moved closer to her face, their noses barely an inch from each other.
"Your grown up." He said, moving closer. "Your a woman, not a girl." He said, tempted to snog the hell out of Alexia. Ximun wasn't sure what had made him do this, but if Lily found out she would probably kill Alexia and himself. "I'm not crazy..." He said smiling. "Crazy for leaving you, maybe, but not crazy."

Alex pushed him off her, absolutely confused. "Xi.. You left me because you said it was weird, like I was family. What changed?" She shook her head, not quite understanding what was going on... Or if she wanted it to. He had a girlfriend.. But he was hers. Her best friend, her protection, her Ximun. Did she want to be that girl? The one who macked other girls boyfriends? Would anyone even know? "Give me some more of that firewhiskey." The common room was nearly packed with Slytherins. The party was in full swing, now. No one would notice if she kept drinking.

Ximun sighed as Alexis pushed him off. "Alexis, I left you because I thought I didn't love you." He admitted. "But, I realized that I do. I do love you Alexis." He said truthfully. Ximun did love her, but he also loved Lily. "I just... I just wanted you to know." He said, taking the flask out of his robes. He took a long drink before handing it to Alexis.
"Don't blame me if you get too drunk to reason. Your not a little girl anymore and you can control how much you drink." He said to her. "Come on, it's getting too crowded in here to talk." He sai dgrabbing her hand and taking her out of the common room.

Alex allowed herself to be tugged along. This way way too much. She took three long pulls from the flask, took a breath, then took another. Things were twisting and spinning, but Xi was there. His hand was steady, as always, and it was guiding her along. Not a little girl anymore? This was true.. But wouldn't he still take care of her? Yeah, of course. Of course Xi would. She smiled, as all the alcohol really began to hit her. He loved her? But.. This was like her best dream come true. He was the big brother she never had, without the creepy family part of things. Alli actually lost track of where they were. Did they just go up a set of stairs? Oh well, who cared. At least these jeans looked good on her. But this sweater was warm, warm, warm! He said he loved her. She knew she loved him. But what was going on? He loved Lily? Since when? Everything spun. He.. loved.. Potter. She could deal with him thinking he liked her, dating her even. But he loved her? That bitch didn't deserve him. Just because her family is famous, isn't it. She was so fucked. Young and fucked. She was not original and cute, like she thought she was. Hell no! She was annoying and stupid and immature and so did not deserve Xi. No one did. But if HE thought ALEX deserved him? She wouldn't inform him otherwise. Where on earth were they going? She had no idea.
