Unusually, Bailey woke up early this Saturday morning. She sat in her bed. She just sat; it was too early for thoughts to swim around in her head. Getting out of bed, Bailey stepped on one of her dorm mate’s cat’s tails. “Oops,” Bailey whispered as the cat ran away, hissing. She laughed a bit and changed into her favorite green shirt. She probably only liked it so much because it gave the green part in her eyes a pop in color. She pulled on her denim capris and walked out of her dorm, leaving an angry cat and a few snoring girls.
A few first years were catching things on fire and Bailey gave a laugh and walked up to them. “Someone’s bookmark? Nice,” she told them, ruffling one of the kids’ hair as she left them and finally the Common Room. The halls weren’t completely empty. However, just a few students were awake. Bailey wasn’t use to this and gave a slight shudder. She liked crowded places with noise. Not too much noise to give you a headache, but not too much quietness to give you a sense of loneliness. Bailey entered the Great Hall and sat down at the very first seating. Nobody else sat there, except for Ryan with her. She grabbed a muffin and took a bite. Usually she waited for Ryan and went to breakfast with him, but it was too early, so she waited in the Great Hall.

Okay. Ryan was sitting in bed. Awake. But he was confused, why was he awake in the first place? There was no loud noises, no evil cats attacking him, no girls smacking him with bats. He didn't get it. Looking around his dorm, all the other people were sleeping. Was he going crazy? Ryan wasn't hungry, it would probably be weird eating this early. Standing up, he looked out the window. Well, the sun was up. It wasn't that early. He got dressed into jeans and some tee shirt with a random design. Pulling on Nike sneakers, he looked into the mirror. Good.
Ruffling his hair, he walked into the common room. It was quiet, making him roll his eyes. Oh, listen, a cricket. Big deal. Walking to the Great Hall, he walked in. Smiling he saw Bailey, he walked to her, sitting across from her. "Hey." He said with a smile.

A blueberry seed being stuck in Bailey's teeth, she fished it out with her tongue. She saw Ryan come up and sit across of her and smiled. "Woke up early for no apparent reason, too?" she asked, seeing that he was pretty early. Some girls nearby were talking about the ball tonight and she rolled her eyes at them. Why the excitement of this ball? There were many other better things. Like mud fights, for an example.
Despite her opinion on balls, Bailey was going. For her father's sake. But not with anybody. She turned to Ryan and asked, "Who you going with?" She had a feeling that he was going, for some reason. Even though, it wasn't like them, so instead of asking if he was going, she just asked the second question that followed it.

"Exactly. Probably a disease." Ryan said with a smirk, grabbing a corn muffin and taking a bite out of it. Hm, it was odd waking up this early and eating. He oddly thought it would probably upset his stomach later on. Then realizing his mouth was rather dry, he smiled as a water popped up in front of him. Grabbing it, he took a sip. Ooh, that felt good. If Bailey said the mud fights instead, he'd probably oddly feel rather bad. Yes, he was going.
"Hm ? Oh, Mary Gem." Ryan said with a smile. After pranking her, that was his 'punishment' from her. Really, he didn't mind at all. He would probably have the urge to bring multiple bottles of fire whiskey and butter beer, then gladly get drunk.

"Disease? Hmm. I probably got it from those other hufflepufffs," Bailey said, with a laugh. She also took a sip of water when it appeared in front of her in a glass, but immediately spit it out to the side as she heard who Ryan was going with. "M-Mary Gem?" she heard herself mutter under her breath. She couldn't believe it. It shocked her like nothing else had before. She was almost speechless. Bailey literally shot up from her seat, pushed her plate forward, and shouted, "What the fuck is wrong with you?" all so fast. She had never cursed at Ryan like this before and she wouldn't have noticed if she hadn't emphasized it. Ryan would surely notice even if he was use to being cursed at. This was different. It was Bailey. She stormed away pretty quickly to the nearest empty place - Moaning Myrtle's bathroom. She walked pass the 'Out of Order' sign, leaving the door wide open. "Being made fun of?" Myrtle asked hopefully as she emerged from her toilet. Bailey ignored her thinking, Feels like it, to herself. No, I don't like Ryan like that. It's just Sinclair. Why her? A blonde would have even been better. Ryan probably thinks I'm angry 'cause I wanted to go with him. He probably thinks I like him. Great. Just what I need. Some girlish drama. Bailey didn't even like blondes. Angry at being ignored, Myrtle glided over to the door and peeked out of it to see if she could find the person who upsetted Bailey. And being Moaning Myrtle, she snickered while doing it.

"Hm. Wait, hey! I'm a Hufflepuff." Ryan said, sporting a insulted expression. Cocking his head as she spit it out, he now had a confused look."What the fuck is wrong with you?" Ryan said, still confused. He didn't get it. Why was Bailey acting like this? Standing up, he followed her. Sighing as she went into the out of order bath room, he walked in. If someone he knew saw him doing that, he probably have to punch them or something. "Bailey? What the fuck is wrong with you?" He asked, walking over to the sink.
Well, the sink seemed sturdy enough. He sat on it, smiling as it held it. "It's rude of someone to spit, curse and leave." Ryan said, smirking.

Bailey was too frustrated to talk to Ryan. She felt like telling him the whole reason why she hated Sinclair. There weren’t many who disliked Bailey, just mainly avoided her, but the one group of girls who disapproved of her and Bailey knew it, were Sinclair and her friends. Bailey didn’t consider if it were just Sinclair’s friends, but she was definitely among them. Mentally laughing at herself, Bailey realized that she probably sounded like some fourth year, but that really hurt her. Maybe Ryan never noticed, but she didn’t care.
“You could have picked anybody else,” Bailey told him, turning away, starting to head towards the door. “You wouldn’t understand,” she told him, softly, hoping he wouldn’t ask, but knowing him, he probably would. Watch what I’ll do if he stops me, Bailey thought.

Ryan shrugged,"Who would you want me to pick?". He did ask that curiously, but seriously. Crossing his arms contently, he looked at her. "Understand what?" He asked, running over, holding her shoulders blocking her. "What wouldn't I not understand?" He asked calmly, continuing to hold her shoulders. He didn't get why going with Mary Gem was such a big deal. Wait, was she jealous? Nah, she couldn't get.
Then Myrtle starting teasing him so he yelled,"Shut up, you ghost thing what ever you fucking are.".

At this comment, Moaning Myrtle started wailing extremely loudly and dived into her toilet, splashing water everywhere. Clutching her wand tightly, Bailey didn't say anything. Anyone would have been better than Sinclair. Her first reaction when Ryan grabbed her shoulders was raising her wand and shouting, "Petrificus Totalus,"
She stared at the frozen Ryan, holding her shoulders and regretted it. She sighed and moved out from under his hands, holding him, so he didn't fall. Bailey now had to think of what to do. SHe didn't know how to un-petrify him and she wasn't going to try anything to blow him up. She took off her robe and placed it under him. Thank Merlin she had her uniform sweater and skirt under it. She knew Ryan wouldn't like it, but she had to drag him to Pomfrey. Bailey looked out the door, saw nobody, and took Ryan to the Hospital Wing. On the way, there were two kids talking, so Bailey used her wand to break a vase next to them, to distract him.
Finally, when they got to the Wing, Bailey briefly told Pomfrey that she found him like this in the hall. She decided to go to her first class, to avoid having to face Ryan once he was unfrozen and told Pomfrey that she had the same class as Ryan and would take his books there.

Realizing what she was going to do, he screamed,'N-!'. Then was frozen. Seriously ? What had he done to deserve getting frozen? Hearing her lie about him, he wanted to scream. Seriously, did she have to be such a bitch about going to the ball? It wasn't going to kill any one, and Mary Gem was also one of his other good friends. As he was unfrozen he murmured,"Liar.". He was actually mad right now. He wanted to break something. Wow. That was weird. He was normally a calm, happy person.
Pomfrey started to fuss over him, giving him some sweet citrus drinks and cookies. Okay, it wasn't that bad.

As soon as Bailey finished explaining, she left towards Charms, taking Ryan's bag of books with her after fetching it from the Great Hall, again. She didn't feel like dealing with Ryan. When she entered the class, she realized that she didn't have her robes on and didn't expect Ryan to bring it back. She bit her bottom lip, slightly and walked over to where she sat with Ryan. She dumped his books there and went to the back of the class and sat there, for a change.

Pomfrey quickly looked over him, smiling. "Okay, you are good to go." She said with a nice tone, and Ryan walked out. His next class was Charms, right? Yeah. Walking to there unwillingly, he really didn't want to see Bailey right now. He was still confused on why she hexed him. Of course, Ryan had no ideas anymore. Finally getting to the Charms class room, he smiled at the teacher. "I'm sorry for being late. I was a bit..frozen in time, if you will." He said politely, and they let him pass.
Sitting down at his seat, not even bothering to wonder why Bailey wasn't there. Fixing his books into a neat pile.

Bailey rolled her eyes at how easily Ryan could get away with anything, easily, but deep down, even though she didn't want to admit it even to herself, she felt thankful that he didn't tell on her. She kept her eyes away from him, leaned back in her chair and tipped it backwards, not willing to copy down any notes or open her book. She was not in the mood for studying at the time. I wouldn't be surprised if little miss Sinclair appeared right next to Ryan in my seat, Bailey thought, furiously in her head.

Oh, if Mary Gem came and sat down next to him, he knew well what he would do. Put his arms around her, kiss her cheek, all to show Bailey. No, he wasn't with Mary Gem, and was uncomfortable with thinking of her like that. She was just a really good friend. As the teacher called on him for an answer, he softly said, smiling gently,"I'm sorry. I really don't remember.". Of course, he got away with it, with his pleasure.
