No body truly understood why Michelle was the way she
was. They just assumed that because she was in Slytherin
and in a pureblooded family that she was automatically
considered a bitch. A mean, cold, heartless person. But
that wasn't true. There were some Slytherins that weren't
completely mean. They were actually rather nice, in
consideration to the fact they were rather rude. Like Kyle.
Kyle was the "nice" one out of the house. They nicest, in
fact. Sure, he had this rude moments and comments, but
he didn't say them harshly, if thats possible. But Kyle, he
didn't understand. He didn't have anything completely
horrible happen to him. Unlike Michelle. No one
understood. Not even her parents, who should've felt
worse than her. But they didn't the get connection she had
with Drew. They got along so well. He was always there
when she had a bad day. He always knew what to say in
the right situations. He was her best friend. Until the
accident...
"Chelle! Come here! I wanna show you this!" Drew
exclaimed, pointing out their 3rd story window at the
mountains with his wand.
Michelle looked up from her book and at her
younger brother. "Dude. There is this thing. Called a book.
You know where that is? In my hand. Book in hands means
reading." she laughed, rolling over on her stomach and
lifting her book again.
"Michelle, get your stupid ugly Slytherin ass over
here and see what I'm putting up the mountain!" he had
said, sounding way out of place. Drew was 11 years old and
Michelle was 13. Winter break in their mansion was always
fun, but now that Drew had his wand and some basics down,
things had gotten more interesting.
Michelle sighed dramatically and rolled off her
bed, making a tick mark in her book and walked over to the
window. She had only just realized how cold it was, and she
couldn't understand how Drew could stay here for more
than 30 seconds. Hugging herself tightly, she stood next to
the boy and looked out the window. The lake just beneath
the window was frozen over and snowy, along with the
mountain. "Ok freak. Show me and then close the window.
I'm freezing already." she mummbled, leaning against the
door of the window.
Since she wasn't looking at Drew, she couldn't
see the mischivious smile on his face. If she would've, she'd've
been away from there 5 seconds ago. "Wingardium leviosa"
he said, pointing out the window, waiting a few minutes.
Now Michelle knew somethign was up. So, not
thinking, she leaned forward more and squinted out the
window. At the exact wrong time. Just then, a huge
snowball came zooming at her and hit her square in the
face. Words escaped her as the ice dripped off her face and
onto the floor. Drew just sat there, laughing hysterically
at his sister, gripping his sides and sliding down the wall.
Finally, after calming down, Drew looked over to his
older sister and started laughing once again. Michelle was now
red faced from the cold snow, shaking from the sudden chill,
and soaking wet from head to toe with freezing water. "That!
That was priceless!" Drew said through fits of laughter.
Michelle found this funny as well, even though she
would never tell Drew. This situation could benift her way too
much. She turned slowly to her brother and gave him the
worst glare she could muster. Having learned it from her father,
it was one scary sight.
'Well crap.' thought Drew, his face becoming more
somber upon seeing his sisters. "Uhm..Chelle? Chelly? Calm down,
okay? It..it was just a joke." she stuttered, backing up slowly to
the balcony. The look on the girls face must have been one crazy
sight, because Drew was one of those purebloods that wasn't
scared of much.
Stalking forward, Michelle smirked evily. "Come here
baby brother. Come give your big sister a hug." she hissed,
spreading her arms open as if she really wanted to give him a
hug. In reality, she was going to grab him and put snow in his
hair, then tickle him to the ground. But Drew obviously thought
otherwise, and continued backing up. There was about 5 more
feet between him and the railing, which was about 2 and a half
feet high.
"Michelle, please. It was a joke. St-stop it." Drew asked,
taking one small step after another, closing the space between
him and the edge. If Michelle would've known how close he
actually was, she'd've stopped in a heartbeat.
"Come on Drewy. Come here!" she said again, smirking.
" No!"
"Awh, why not? Am I not your favorite older sister?"
Drew stopped a minute, giving her the look of
complete stupidity. "You're my only sister!" he said, rolling his
eyes at her comment.
Michelle stopped as well. "That, is /so/ aside the point."
she said, laughing quietly. After a minute, she started at Drew
again, this time a smile clearly planted on her face. Drew laughed
as well, and put up his hands in mock-horror while stepping back
again.
"No. Please. Don't hurt me! I'm sorry big sister! Please
forgive me."
She pretended to look thoughtful for a second.
“Forgiveness… not given,” she replied, about a foot and a half from
her brother now, who was less than a foot from the low railing.
Neither noticed his close proximity until his calves hit the steel bar,
and he toppled backwards.
Eyes wide, Michelle longed forward and grabbed his hand
as he tried to regain his footing. Unfortunately the bar was slick
with ice, and he was soon dangling from the balcony, literally
holding on to his sister’s hand for dear life.
“Hold on,” she said desperately, pulling him up with all
her strength. She needed better footing, more leverage – she
shifted, and hit a patch of black ice she couldn’t see. She fell
forward and her arm collided painfully with the metal bar, and
her hand automatically relaxed. Before she could even register
what had happened, her brother was plummeting to the frozen
ground, now far beyond her reach.
Michelle shivered at the memory, regardless of the warm
cabin on the way to Hogwarts. She looked out the window at the
landscape that passed her, feeling the tear fall down her face. No
one could see her like this. She couldn't afford to have anyone
see her like this. Wiping away the tear before turning around, she
checked the cabin. Acariod had his head in Michelles lap, still
sleeping as Michelle absentmindly stroked his soft, messy hair
lightly. Thankfully, there was no one else in the cabin, afraid of
what Michelle and Acario would end up doing. It wasn't as if they
were dating, but they very well could have been.
MIchelle looked out the window once again, another,
darker memory filling her mind.
She couldn't stand to look at him like this. Yes, he was alive,
but only just. Michelle turned to look at her brother again, but
regretted it as soon as she did. Drew was covered in bandages which
were turning red with the slow flow of blood, both of his legs
broken along with his arm, ribs bandaged together, and his
breathing shallow and labored thanks to a popped lung. And this
was all Michelles fault.
"Drew.." she whispered, reaching out tentatively for his
unbandaged hand. "Drew, I'm so sorry. This was my fault."
The young boy was barely awake, but he heard every
word that had been uttered since he had been admitted into the
private ward at St. Mungos. He opened his eyes only the slightest
and turned his head to Michelle, since that was the only this his
body would allow at the moment. "Chelle, this was not your fault.
It was both of ours." she coughed, gasping every now and then
when he exherted himself more than his body could handle.
Michelle winced as she remembered that day only a few
days prior. Her father had said it was all her fault and that she
should be in here, in her brothers place.
Everyone had left Drew and Michelle alone whenever
the girl came to visit. He would talk to no one else but Michelle
and only if they were by themselves. These conditions were
perfectly fine with Michelle.
Drew coughed again, and closed his eyes. "I can't take
this anymore. I just can't. This is too much pain." he said softly,
not daring to open his eyes. "Michelle?"
"What's going on baby brother?"
"I'm dying." Drew said, dreading the truth in his words.
Michelle stared at her brother, shocked at what he said.
"Hah hah, stop joking around. You're not going to die." she laughed
tentatively, feeling tears well up in her eyes. She didn't want to
imagine her closest friend leaving her.
He really didn't want to do what he had on his mind, but
he had planned this all day and he knew Michelle would do it.
"Stop my treatment."Drew whispered, opening his eyes finally
and looking over to Michelle, pleading with her silently. Drew
had listened to everything the doctors had said ever since he'd been
admitted to the hospital, and he knew what was going on. He
faked sleeping when the doctors told each other what was wrong
with the boy, started him on some sort of potion that might cure
him. Might. But most likely wouldn't.
If the look on Michelles face didn't give away her
complete awe, nothing would. She couldn't honestly be expected
to /kill/ her brother...could she? "No."
"Please Michelle. I've listened to them. They don't think
I'm going to live. I'd rather die when I want to. My time, my way."
Michelle couldn't look at Drew anymore. This was getting
to be way too much. And the tears were now flowing freely down
her face. "Why are you asking me to do this?" she whispered, her
voice cracking.
Drew sighed, and closed his eyes again. "Because you're
my sister and my best friend. Because you, of all people, would
understand why I want to do this."
Was he insane?! Why did he want to die so bad? Michelle
couldn't understand that urge to off himself faster than necessary,
but she did know that she'd do anything for her brother. No
matter how outrageous. Michelle sighed, and turned to her
brother once again. "Where is the potion?"
After that ordeal, Michelle and Drew planned. She
helped him figure out who to give what possessions to, what they'd
do after he died, and mostly just Drew comforting Michelle on the
fact that he wouldn't be there for her much longer.
It had taken 3 days for them to plan out everything, and
once it was done, the final plan was put into action. Michelle came
into St. Mungos on Thursday morning, and everyone hurried out
of the ward.
"Are you ready?" Michelle asked, gripping Drews hand with
her left hand, wand in her right. It had taken a while to figure out
how she'd sneak her wand in.
Drew looked over at his sister and smiled. "Let's go big
sister." he whispered.
Michelle nodded, taking one last look at her brother
before turning her head to the cabinet that held all the her
brothers potions. "Bombarda." she murmured, pointing her wand
at the cabinet.
A small explosion came from the cabinet, and everything
in there exploded and slid down the wall.
Drew turned his head away from the commotion, and
Michelle hid her wand once again. People would be coming in there
soon, and the girl needed to get out. Drew squeezed his sisters hand
lightly, and Michelle looked down at him. "I love you. I'll always
be here for you." Drew told Michelle, smiling again.
Michelle bit her lip and attempted a smile back. He'd
stop hurting soon. And Michelle had helped him. "I love you too
baby brother. Always have, always will." she said, leaning down
and kissing his forehead and looking into his eyes for one last time.
The boys eyes looked over his sister slowly, drifting closed.
Looking almost as if he was going to sleep.
"You're safe now, little brother. You're ok." Michelle
whispered in his ear, kissing his cheek lightly before getting up,
letting go of his hand, and walking out of the ward without looking
back.
"My fault." Michelle whispered to no one in particular
as she noticed they were nearing Hogwarts.
Acario stirred from his position in Michelles lap. "What's
your fault, Michelle?" he asked, sitting up and rubbing his eyes.
Michelle looked over to Acario and sneered. "I meant to
say not my fault. Those stupid mudbloods fault. Infiltrating
Hogwarts. Stealing our magic and whatnot. Thank merlin the
Dark Lord is going to off them all. So that way we can be together
in our world without dealing with those kinds." she said, leaning
over and kissing Acario's neck.
The boy nodded slowly, as if he understood more than
was actually being said. "And we shall be the ones to help him."
he said, feeling Michelles chest up slightly.
Giggling against his neck, Michelle came up. "Lets wait
until tonight, shall we? I have something marvelous planned for
us." she said, smirking slightly as she started to undress infront of
him to get into her school robes.
"This better be good." he said, watching the girl strip as he
fished himself out of his pants and stroked his hard self.
Michelle looked over the boy and let her shirt fall. "Oh,
it will be."
