Lily smiled and walked out into the rain. Watching James curiously, she burst out laughing when he jumped in the puddle.
Walking a little out, rather far away from him, closing her eyes slowly and just letting the ran hit her. Sitting down in a muddy puddle, not caring if she got mud on her robes. Lily couldn't make out the figure of James that well, the only force of light being the two water proof torches that remained on the stone walls.

James continued his splashing, until he saw Lily sit in a puddle.
He tried as quietly as he could to sneak up on her. However, he ended up slipping in a puddle not far from where she sat, and face planting in the mud puddle where she sat.
He shook his hair out and attempted to dry his glasses on his robes. That failed horribly, seeing as his robes were wet. Instead it ended up just making them wetter.
"Well. That could have gone smoother," he said, with a smile.

Lily watched him with the poor light, and started laughing when she heard the splash. Crawling over to him, she scooped up a handful of mud and slapped in onto his cheek. "Opps?" She teased playfully, then backing up carefully. Standing up straight, a large toothy smile came upon her face.
She knew he would probably come after her with mud, which made her giggle. Pushing a wet strand of hair out of her face, looking at the faint silhouette.

"Nonono-" Oh no she didn't.
"Don't think you're going to get away with this, young lady!" He said, in a passable imitation of McGoogles. In the dim lamp light, he scooped up a handful of mud, and ran in her general direction. He painted some sort of war line-type things on her face, and then laughed at her expression.
"They suit you, really."

Lily laughed once more, looking at him as he painted mud on her face. "Hm, really?" She asked, smiling. Walking behind him, she got more mud, and ran it through his hair laughing. Climbing onto his back, putting her legs around his waist and her arms around his neck in a pig back ride way. "Got'cha." She said to him, putting her face onto his back, probably smearing all the mud.
"Oh dear, you hair has mud in it!" She exclaimed in a fake tone of shock.

"Not the hair!" He exclaimed, acting a little bit too much like Sirius for his liking.
He then wrapped his arms around her legs, securing her, so she wouldn't fall.
"So what do you think I'd look like with a muddy brown hair colour?" He said, very seriously.

Lily laughed at him, looking up as lightning lit up the sky. "Ooh." She said with a smile. "Hm. You would look horrible with it, actually." She said, raising her eyebrows. "Yeah. No brown hair for you." She murmured in his ear, playing with his muddy hair lightly.
Patting his head, she clung tighter as thunder boomed. Well, it really was extremely loud.

"Oh, how lovely, Lily dearest," James said, pretending to be hurt.
Then there was thunder. He flinched a little. Not because he was scared, of course. It had just caught him off guard.
He sighed.
"See, Lily? Why couldn't you have just realised that you liked me too? We could have had all this so much sooner!" He said. This wasn't exactly how he'd planned tonight. Though it had gone well enough. Though he wasn't looking forward to having to peel off wet socks.

Lily laughed,"Planning to dye your hair anytime soon?". Raising an eyebrow at his flinching, she shrugged it off,"You aren't very good at giving piggy backs, you know.". Frowning at the next thing she said with a proud tone,"Well sorry for you finally calming down on the pranks and being more mature.".
The rain started pouring harder, making that frown turn into a smile. "Mm." She hummed, blinking out the rain drops that were close to her eyes.

"Yes. I was thinking maybe brown," James joked, flicking his, now drenched, hair out of his eyes.
"Well sorry, your highness," James said, rolling his eyes. He then started jogging around, attempting to not slip. This was going to end in him probably dead from exhaustion.
Or maybe not.
"Ah, Lily. I don't think I've calmed down. I think you've finally realised you were in love with me all that time," he said, turning his head to face her.
At this point, he could barely see out of his glasses. He gave up, and took them off. Such a drawback, rain.
