Aha. Yet another chance to win over the lovely Lily Evans.
Today seemed a bit different. He seemed luckier.
He'd won the Quidditch game today, a bet against Sirius, and an A in an essay he did all by himself... Today felt good.
So he approached the fourth floor corridor with a spring in his step, and a familiar cockiness, which, he liked to think, everyone loved.
Funny. Lily wasn't here yet. This was unusual.
Running his hand through his hand, to mess it up, and straightening his glasses, he pulled out the Marauder's Map.
'I solemnly swear I am up to no good.' According to this, she was around the corner. As he thought. She'd be just on time. She was never late.

Lily was late. Well, according to her clock she was. She was running, red hair whipping around behind her. Wait. Then she stopped. Why was she running? Who cares if she was late to seeing Potter? Smiling at this, she slowed down a lot, to a casual walking pace. Lily wasn't in the greatest mood. The running for no reason got her pissed, so did the fact that she had to do three more essays.
Folding her arms with pursed lips at the sight of James, she walked even slower. "What areas today?" She asked, keeping a casual tone. Lily stood about seven feet away from him, staring at the wall, looking at the little patterns.

"Why hello, love. A minute late today!" He teased lightheartedly.
Then he sighed. Always with the work.
"Strict orders from McGoogles to just patrol this and the linking corridor. Sorry. At least they're long and full of eventful paintings?" He said.
"And always with such vindiction in your tone!"

Lily shot him a glare,"Don't call me love. And it's not my fault some one messed up by clock.". At the next thing, she sighed. "Maybe the paintings will have more interesting conversation then you." She snapped. Rolling her eyes, Lily ran a hand through her hair. "Shall we star?" She asked, placing a hand lighting on her hip, clearly annoyed.
Looking at him quickly, James was really handsome. And his eyes were amazing. Shaking her head, she yelled at herself in her head. What was she thinking?!

James pretended to be hurt.
"Everytime you snap at me, Lils, it's like a knife, digging into my heart! And the fact you'd talk to paintings before me! I could cry, Lily. Really."
"Well. Yes, let's," He replied, holding out an arm. It wasn't as if she'd take it, she'd probably just walk off and leave him standing there like a douche. Eh well.
It was worth the offer. And besides. He'd like to think she's stared at him a fraction of a second longer than necessary.

Lily raised an eyebrow and forced herself not to smile. "Have fun crying." She said with a happy tone, which sounded a little to happy for her liking. Smirking, she took his arm gently, waiting to see his reaction. Really, this seemed very pleasant to her. "Now, off to the patrol?" Lily asked, looking to him. She wasn't that shorter then him, her being five foot seven.
Realizing that when she touched James, warmth spread through her, she moved her bright green eyes to the ground. Hearing rain hit the glass windows, a large smile came upon her face, lighting her face up happily. "I love the rain, you know." Not really knowing why she was saying this to James Potter out of everyone.

"Ah, Lily. You bully me," James said.
Then he did a double take.
Had she just taken his outstretched arm? ... ... Yes. Yes she had.
He started off in a walk, arm in arm with Lily. "See, Lils? It's not so bad, is it?" He asked. Maybe he was pushing his luck. Probably.
"The rain is nice. Very calming. Almost romantic," he replied, waggling his eyebrows.
Now he'd gone too far.

"Do I?" Lily said with a smirk.
Looking at him at what he said, a smile tugging on her lips. "Hm. Unless you bite my head off and leave me with wild deer." She said with a shrug.
Giggling at the next thing, she stopped walking, and gently pushed him against the wall section that held no paintings. Lily gently kissed his neck, not really thinking this over. Why was she doing this first of all? All her dorm mates told her that she fancied James Potter, but she had never believed them. Could they finally be telling the truth?

"Yes, you do, Lily. And why would I bi-"
He was cut off as she pushed him against the wall. Wake up James, you're dreaming.
She was kissing his neck.
He was dreaming. He had to be.
Eh well. He was going to make the most of his dream.
He placed both hands on her hips, and bent his head, so he could reach her lips, kissing them softly, making sure she wasn't going to pull away, and run away yelling about how he'd assaulted her in the corridors.

Smiling as he kissed back, she moved closer to him. One of her hands snaked up to his head, moving to his hair softly. Pulling away gently, about a centimeter, she whispered to him softly,"James...". Kissing him again, stomach feeling rather funny, but in a good way.
Coming to her senses finally, she smiled and kept kissing. Kissing more passionately, moving her other hand onto his cheek lightly, up to his glasses, and taking them off lightly. Really hoping someone didn't come down this hallway, she dropped his glasses lightly.

Okay. So far no yells of rape.
Pulling her closer, he too started kissing her more passionately. Feeling her pulling off his glasses, and hearing them clink to the floor, he felt he couldn't give a damn about those things right now. His thoughts were clouded with Lily.
"I hope to God no one comes right now. 'Cause that would mean I'd have to hex them," he murmured.

Moving her hands down to his chest, separating her lips gently while she kissed him. Breathing a laugh, she whispered back,"Then I would have to give you detention.". Smiling happily, ignoring the complaints of the paintings on the other side of the hall, while others cheered for James.
"James? Can we go in the rain?" She asked curiously, eyes lighting up happily. James really had changed. Sure, he was still that loud, annoying person, but a handsome, nice person. He had calmed down with the pranks, to her happiness. She slid her hand into his, looking at him hopefully.

"Give me detention? That really isn't a threat anymore," he teased.
The rain? Why not?
"Sure, Lils. But are you sure you'd want to give up your corridor patrol duties?" James said, with a look of mock seriousness.
It was then he remembered he didn't have his glasses, and he bent down to retrieve those annoying circles of glass that helped him see.

"Then I'd leave." Lily said, folding her arms, frowning. Glaring at him,"Oh, be quiet and come on.". Watching him pick up his glasses, Lily started skipping to the door happily. Smiling to James, rubbing her eyes gently.
Opening the door, she leaned against it, waiting for him. Looking outside, it was raining rather hard and pretty dark, oh well, going in the rain would be awesome.

"Okay, okay, Jeezz," James muttered, following her to the door.
"Well. It's raining pretty damn heavily. Who's going to be the first victim?" He asked, lightheartedly.
He could smell the rain on the ground; The smell that suggested decay and yet new life. He had to admit, he liked this smell.
He then spotted a puddle and unleashed his inner child.
He grinned at Lily, and then dashed for the puddle, jumping in it.
He really had forgot how fun this was.
