Tonight seemed like one of those perfect nights. There was a nice, cool breeze moving through the astronomy tower, the sky was clear of clouds and you could see more stars than you ever imagined you could. Perfect. Autumn couldn't help but smile. Even if Phil didn't show up (but she knew he would) she'd be content just sitting on the balcony looking up at the stars, thinking of all the things she's been lucky for having and dedicating it to one star.
But, being Phil, she knew he would come, so she sat, looking up, in her light yellow a-line skirt and clung to her hips, and this tight fitting green v-neck shirt with her hair tied back in a loose pony tail.
Yes, Autumn put a little more effort than usual to look nice for Phil. Why? She wasn't sure exactly. Sure, she'd always been attracted to Phil. He was a very nice looking man ok so he was freaking HOT and tonight seemed like..something might happen. What exactly, she didn't know.
Autumn looked down at her watch again. Five minutes until nine. So she looked up again, waiting, if not somewhat anxiously, for Phil to show up.

Phil was running, for what felt like the millionth time that day. It just seemed to feel that one thing after another was going wrong. First off, there was the whole issue of waking up thinking he was late for transfiguration and running through the school like a maniac. Then he couldn't go get changed out of his uniform as Gideon was still asleep and no one would want to wake a sleeping Gideon Prewet... more than once, anyway. Phil then had to wait until lunch before the bugger actually came down from the boys dormitories. Most of the afternoon was then spent listening half-heartedly to a lecture on how it is pretty much a sin to return a library book even one day late. Stupid Librarian...
Ah well. At least he was still meeting Autumn. Sadly, this now brings us back to why Phil was running. His watch had stopped, and therefore had little idea of what time it was. Therefore he was currently running on guesses, which, this being Phil, were certainly less than perfect. After a short stop at the kitchens (Sadly none of the elves would tell him the time), the boy was now almost at the astronomy tower. Here he had the extremely fun task of getting up the great multitude of thin and winding steps to the tower while trying to stay alive. Next time, Phil would make a point to arrange to meet in a place that was easier to get to.
Eventually, Phil made it to the top, pulling open the door to see Autumn already on the other side. "Please tell me that you're just early and I'm not really really late or something."

Autumn was almost completely distracted by the many stars when she heard some huffing and puffing coming from the other side of the door, then seeing the door itself burst open with a very tired looking Phil.
Laughing as she listened to Phils hope for being on time, she smiled and nodded. "I'm about 5 minutes early, actually. Your watch break again?" she guessed. It has happened a few times before, with the same result.
Autumn walked over to Phil, taking the food from him and setting it down on the table, to hug him. She put her arms over his shoulders and hugged him tight, since he was almost too cute for always being late. "We really need to get you a better tell of time."

Five minutes early? Thank God. That most certainly saved Phil from a heart attack. When he thought about it, five minutes early meant that he was now technically on time. YAY FOR GUESSWORK. Finally he could muster up a grin, knowing that all the panicking had truly been for nothing.
"How did you know?" he asked, dangling the useless dead thing from two fingers. "This time I truly have no idea what happened to it. It just killed itself out of spite, probably." His things usually had a habit of dying that way. Phil had never been sure why.
With a soft smile, Phil hugged Autumn back, his arms wrapping around her waist, settling on her back. "I know, yet I can't seem to be able to get rid of it. The little bugger's grown on me, I guess... so how much astronomy homework was there, anyway?"

Autumn laughed again as Phil showed the culprit of many excuses to teachers. "That's it, I'm getting you a new watch. One that actually works!" she said, pulling back to see his face but to not take her hands off his shoulders. "You can keep that one though. Just keep it on your dresser, where you can admire without having to get in trouble for it."
Finally, Autumn pulled away completely and walked over to her bag with her homework. "Well, not a lot. Just a foot long essay. What about? I have no idea." she admitted, blushing and laughing quietly.

A new watch? "Ok then. I'll hold you up to that, you know?" He joked, once again remembering how Marlene McKinnon owed him a calender. This is what's known as a selective memory- Phil probably had one of the worst of all, yet still remembered things such as promises. Weird but true. Sadly, Phil instantly saw a problem in Autumn's plan. "Things that go on my dresser never seem to stay there for long." This could be due to one of three reasons. One, Phil lost them. Two, He threw them at Gideon each morning. Three, Something ate them. All were certainly within the realms of possibility.
He sighed, looking over Autumn's shoulder at the homework. "Well, since we have no clue what we're actually meant to do with the homework, how about we go with the original idea of just enjoying each other's company?" Phil asked with a grin. It had been ages since the two had really spent any time together.

"Don't worry. I'll head into Hogsmeade tomorrow and grab one." she said, looking up from her bag at Phil. He looked really good tonight, for some reason. Her mind went back to Hogsmeade though. She knew the perfect watch already. A little on the expensive side, but not that much. Besides, Phil had always done so many things for her, so this was a double pay back.
Autumn blushed again, as she listened to Phil bring up the earlier option. "You know, I would love that, actually. I have missed you." she said quietly.

Phil truly couldn't help but smile. It seemed like Autumn was always doing things like this for him. "Thankyou so much." He said, sitting down next to Autumn and giving her another short hug. The girl was probably the only one who really understood how much Phil depended on his watch. Even if the bloody thing broke on almost a daily basis.
"I've missed you too. So come on. Tell me what you're thinking." He asked with a grin. If the boy recalled correctly, the last time that the two had really spent any time together like this, with no homework or anything school related in general involved, had to be at least just before the summer. Sixth year really was starting to feel so long ago, and they'd only been back at school for a few weeks at most.

Autumn blushed again as Phil thanked her. He was way too cute and sweet for his own good. "You're very welcome, Phil darling." she said, hugging him back quickly and blushing more. What was with this ruddy blushing?!?!
As he sat next to her and asked what was on her mind, the first thing that came out, was not supposed to. At all. "You." she said, but covered her mouth quickly. Was that what was really going on? No. No no no. "I..I mean, uhm, school. There is just so much going on that I can't keep my head straight anymore!" she said, hoping to cover up well.

"Me?" Phil repeated, his face blank. He tilted his head to the side slightly, probably looking slightly confused. In actual fact, he was intrigued- curious as to why Autumn was thinking of him. It wasn't like it was a bad thing, Phil just never really liked people worrying about him.
Seeing as he had no idea what Autumn was truly talking about (Or, more likely, pushing that thought to the back of his mind. Come on. Even Phil thinks about things like that.), Phil had chosen to assume that either he'd done something or she was worrying about him. He went along with the quick subject change anyway.
"School's only just started and already it has you like this? Christ. And I thought I was the bad one when it came to stuff like this. So what are these so many things that are going on?"

Autumn thought her eyes were the size of dinner plates when Phil mentioned that he heard Autumn say his name. What was he thinking? What did he assume? Did he know that Autumn liked him? 'Do I like him? I never really thought I did until he looked just so...amazing tonig- Oh my godric what am I talking about!??!' she thought frantically, while making her face go back to a calm expression. Let's hope he didn't know.
She was glad, though, that he changed the subject to her quick diversion. Obviously school wasn't an issue yet. Well, okay, that was a lie. School was getting to her a bit. She'd never not done an essay. Going along with it though, sounded the best instead of explaining her slip-up. "Well, I suppose that it hasn't gotten that bad. I am just trying to handle all these extra hard classes. Arithmacy and astronomy, and I've added choir too. So many things. But I think I can handle it." she said, smiling brightly. "What about you. What's been on your thoughts?"

Phil smiled, looking out at the night sky. In his opinion, there was certainly a much better view when you sat down to look. The stars seemed more visible and it looked as if everything went on forever. "Arithmacy, Astronomy and Choir."He repeated slowly, still looking at the stars. Those classes were certainly not his cup of tea, to be blunt. "I'm sure you can manage. You're usually good with things like this."
Autumn's next question took him by surprise and, like Autumn, he also answered without thinking. "You." ... that could certainly be interpreted in many ways. Heck, Phil was even blushing once he realised what he'd said. He then tried to change the subject too. "And by that I mean..." Phil's mind chose then off all times to go blank. Bugger.

Autumn smiled as Phil gave her a nice little self-esteem boost as he complimented her multi-tasking skills...she thought? She noted that he was watching the stars, just as she was while she was waiting for him. So, risking it a little, she decided to rest her head on his lap, and look up with him. Or at him. We'd see which came first.
As she was laying her head down, she heard what Phil had said. Was he joking? Maybe trying to make Autumn feel better for her little slip up earlier? He didn't correct his though. Well, no, he actually tried to, but he couldn't think of anything. Which meant that..it..it was true. "You've been thinking about..me?" she asked inquisitivly, looking up at him from his lap. She kind of hoped she wasn't pushing her luck with this.

Phil truly couldn't think of anywhere he would rather be right now. The sky was clear, the stars were out... and something was now leaning on his lap. Phil looked down slowly, curious as to what was resting on his legs. He smiled as his slightly bewildered gaze met Autumn's, gently using one of his fingers to move some stray strands of hair out of her face. Phil's heart fluttered and he could gradually feel his face growing warmer. This wasn't right- it was september and already close to bloody freezing--
It was then that he realised what the hell was going on. It had certainly taken his brain long enough to catch up.... Oh God. Phil liked Autumn. His practical sister. That's why he'd been blushing. That's why he'd said that he'd been thinking about her. Sure that was just a slip of the tongue, but still... Oh God.
Surely this couldn't be happening. He was going out with Thalia, and yet... yet right now Phil was certainly thinking that he'd be much better with Autumn. No, wait- he couldn't let himself think that, let alone say it... Well this was certainly making Phil's brain hurt.
Plus, Autumn certainly didn't help by actually listening to what he'd said. Now that the girl knew that the poor sod had said that, it was pretty much almost impossible to deny it. Phil let out a sigh and slowly nodded. "Yes."

Autumn pulled herself off of Phils lap and sat next to him, tilting her head sideways slightly because she didn't understand this. Phil had this look on his face, like he was inwardly debating something.
Then Autumn remembered. Thalia. One of Autumns best friends, who was dating Phil. And here she was, flirting with him, having him flick hair from her face, blushing, cuddling with him.
But it just felt..amazing. She didn't want to be anywhere but here right now.
When he finally admitted to thinking about Autumn, her confused expression got more confused. Her eyebrows wrinkled together and she bit her lip. Did she do something wrong? "Uhm..H-how were you thinking about me?" she questioned. "I-i mean...what about me were you thinking about?"
